We’re looking for stories. Funny, sad, ridiculous…whatever they may be, we need the story of your first car. Give us anything you want. We want to hear from you.
From Renee, the Marketing Intern at TW:
My first car was a 1991 Chevy Blazer. Fire red. Beautiful. She had a bright red decal in the back window, and some sweet turtle bobble heads. I experienced my first car wash with her, my first car repair, my first tank fill-up (at the time it was $21…for an SUV – amazing!) We went in a few snow banks together and had a few trips to the beach. The Blaze and me, we were pals. I only had her for four months and someone pulled out in front of me. She was a gonner – entire frame was bent. We buried her and I bawled. I still miss The Blaze every once in a while when I see another one tooling down the road but I know she’s in a better place now. And I’m saving a ton on gas!
We think this might inspire you – tell us about your first car!
My first car was a 2 door 1999 Chevy Cavalier. I bought it brand new & drove it for a full 10 years! When I got it, I was 16 and drove myself & my friends EVERYWHERE. My dad got me a sport edition which basically meant that it had huge sport decals all over it (not my thing). I mean, these decals were enormous! At this time I was just thrilled to have a brand new shiny red car. Eventually, I removed the decals with the assistance of my hair dryer. I just traded it in @ the Chevy store a month ago for a new 08 Malibu. It was time to trade up & with 190,000 miles on it, I figured it was time to try something new. Now I love my Mali & plan on it lasting just as long.
A great resource for first car buyers.
